Planning and building of a model Colliery
in 00 Gauge

The majority of rolling stock will be 21T hopper wagons, fitted and unfitted. I will be using two types of hopper wagon both from Parkside Dundas, PC77 and PC78 (pictured) PC78 is the rebodied version.
Both wagon types will be either painted Bauxite (fitted) or Grey (unfitted) There is quite a lot of work goes into building these wagons as both kits are quite comprehensive.

Side view of the rebodied hopper, the decals are from Modelmaster, the couplings are Bachmann 36-027 Mini Cranked couplings glued in position.
End view of the wagon, this wagon is vacuum fitted and you can clearly see the vacuum chamber. The overhead warning flashes are from Fox Transfers.
The wagon still needs weathering.
End view of unfitted hopper wagon (PC77) As you can see the couplings are are in place and the wagons just needs weathering.
Side view of unfitted hopper, a few glue marks are visible on these hopper wagons but once weathered they won't be seen. The 'HOP 21' decal is a homemade mock up only but looks a lot clearer in 'the flesh'
